How does BackupMyMail work?
It's simple. All you need to do is provide your email account info, and BackupMyMail will check your account every day and copy your email onto our servers. If you ever need to restore from your backup, you can come back to our site and download your email.

Storage
How much storage do you need? One easy way to tell is to login to your webmail account (GMail, Yahoo Mail, or Hotmail/Windows Live) and look at how much space you're currently using. Otherwise, you can figure that you'll be able to store between 5,000-30,000 messages per gigabyte, depending on how many attachments you send or receive and how big those files are. BackupMyMail supports email accounts up to 5GB in size.
Update Frequency
BackupMyMail's system will periodically check your email account and backup any new messages it finds. This happens at least once a day.
Encryption
Your privacy is important. We offer optional encrypted storage for your messages, and will use secure download methods if your email provider supports them. We use the same type of encryption technology that banks use to help secure your backup.
Daily Snapshots
If you delete an important email file or folder and want it back, you can go back in time and select the date to restore. A snapshot is available for each day, starting at the time you sign up for BackupMyMail.
Download on Demand
If the unthinkable happens and you need your backup, all you have to do is log into BackupMyMail and download your mail. You can then import it into the client of your choice.
Attachments
Don't worry - we don't just backup your mail, we backup all your attachments, too. When you download your mail backup, all your attachments will come with it. The attachments will stay in your mail, just like they were before.
